Senegal’s President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye has showered the triumphant Teranga Lions and their entire support team with lavish rewards following their AFCON 2025 victory, handing each player about $135,000 in cash and a 1,500 m² plot of land on the scenic Petite Côte.
The president’s package reflects both immediate gratitude and a long‑term stake in the champions’ futures.
In a gesture that extends past the pitch, members of the technical and coaching staff are set to receive $90,000 each and a 1,000 m² parcel of land, acknowledging the vital work of analysts, trainers, medics and strategists whose efforts often go unseen.
“This victory wasn’t built on talent alone,” President Faye said at the state banquet. “It was crafted by every mind and hand that supported our heroes.”
Even the wider delegation, from logistics officials to programme coordinators, will be recognised, each rewarded with $35,000 and a 500 m² plot, ensuring the entire travelling party shares tangibly in the historic accomplishment.
“We win as a team, and we rise as a nation,” remarked the federation’s secretary general during the handover ceremony.
For many Senegalese, the announcement feels like more than a bonus; it is a powerful symbol of national pride and investment in tomorrow.
The combination of significant cash awards and land ownership, set in a region increasingly linked with prestige and development, underscores how deeply football is woven into Senegal’s social fabric.
Coming just days after the Teranga Lions reclaimed continental glory, the presidential rewards not only cement the players’ status as national icons but also mark a defining moment in Senegal’s modern sporting history.
