S’Eagles’ Ndidi may join Everton from Leicester City – Ex-Man Utd chief scout

Former Manchester United chief scout, Mick Brown, has suggested that Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi is likely to part ways with Leicester City this summer, with Everton emerging as a strong contender for his signature.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown revealed that the Toffees have been keeping tabs on the midfielder, following his standout displays for Leicester in the Premier League.

“Everton are considering signing Wilfred Ndidi and he’s a very solid player,” Brown told Football Insider.

“They have had scouts watching his performances and he is been one of Leicester City’s better players.”

Ndidi, who featured prominently as Leicester secured their first win of the season, remains one of the most reliable names in the squad due to his excellent defensive contributions, ranging from interceptions to recoveries and overall pitch coverage.

“It’s a move I expect Ndidi will be open to as well, the chance to get back into the Premier League after getting relegated with Leicester,” Brown added.

“I expect Everton to make an attempt to bring him in the club ahead of [others likes Real Betis and Man United].

“Either way, it looks like Ndidi is definitely leaving Leicester [this summer].”

Despite penning a fresh three-year deal just last summer, Ndidi’s contract reportedly contains an escape clause that makes him available for around £9 million, a figure that could see multiple clubs vying for his services.

With Leicester now back in the Championship, holding on to the Nigerian international could prove a tall order.
