Ronaldo wins first Saudi League title with Al Nassr

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr secured a 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday, sealing the Saudi Pro League title in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.

The result saw Al Nassr edge out fierce rivals Al Hilal by two points to clinch their 11th league championship overall, and their first since Ronaldo joined the club in January 2023.

The triumph marks a major milestone in his Saudi Arabian journey after two seasons of near misses.

The match also highlighted the star power assembled at Al Nassr, with former Liverpool winger Sadio Mané getting on the scoresheet, while former Atlético Madrid and Chelsea forward João Félix also featured prominently.

The team is currently managed by experienced coach Jorge Jesus, who has overseen a late-season surge to the title.

Ronaldo’s brace further underlined his extraordinary consistency in Saudi Arabia, taking his goal tally for the club beyond 100 since arriving from Manchester United.

His goals were crucial in a decisive final-day performance that ultimately separated Al Nassr from Al Hilal at the top of the table.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has now won domestic league titles in Portugal, England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, adding yet another chapter to his decorated career.

He will now turn his attention to leading Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his sixth appearance on football’s biggest stage, while Al Nassr celebrate only their second major trophy since his arrival, following the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, which is not officially recognized by FIFA.
