Ex-Real Madrid star Carvajal backs Ronaldo to reach 1,000-goal milestone

Former Real Madrid defender, Dani Carvajal, has expressed confidence that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo will reach 1,000 career goals, describing the Al-Nassr star as a “beast”.

Carvajal made the prediction during an interview with Spanish newspaper AS, highlighting his belief in Ronaldo’s exceptional goalscoring ability.

According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who shared the remarks on X on Wednesday, Carvajal said, “Cristiano Ronaldo will reach 1,000 goals for sure! He’s a beast,” Carvajal said.

Ronaldo, who is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest players, continues to pursue the remarkable milestone after years of prolific performances at club and international levels.

The former Real Madrid forward enjoyed a successful nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, where he won several major trophies and became the Spanish giants’ all-time leading goalscorer before leaving the club in 2018.

Carvajal, meanwhile, reaffirmed his unwavering attachment to Real Madrid, declaring that his relationship with the club would remain permanent.

“I was born Madridista and I will die Madridista,” he said.

The Spanish defender progressed through Real Madrid’s youth system before establishing himself in the senior team, winning numerous domestic and European honours during his time at the club.

Carvajal also expressed his willingness to pay any amount to witness another dramatic comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu, recalling the memorable turnarounds that have become part of Real Madrid’s European football history.

“I’d pay any money needed just to experience another magic remontada night at the Bernabéu,” he said.

Real Madrid have earned a reputation for staging remarkable comebacks, particularly in the UEFA Champions League, with late goals and dramatic finishes helping them overcome difficult situations against some of Europe’s top sides.

Carvajal’s comments reflect his admiration for Ronaldo’s achievements and his enduring loyalty to Real Madrid, while expressing hope for more memorable nights at the club’s iconic home ground.
