The Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday reconvened for its first plenary session following the lifting of the state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu.
The sitting, which commenced at 10 a.m., was presided over by Speaker Martin Amaewhule. Lawmakers gathered at the Conference Hall of the Legislative Quarters along Aba Road, which currently serves as their temporary chamber.
The development comes a day after Tinubu announced the end of the emergency rule imposed on Rivers during months of political unrest, restoring full democratic governance in the state.
