Nollywood stars Regina Daniels and Angela Okorie are currently locked in a public feud that has gripped fans and drawn attention across social media.
The drama began after Angela Okorie held an Instagram Live session where she spoke about her health struggles and claimed she had forgiven fellow actress Mercy Johnson, whom she alleged had wronged her in the past.
During the live session, Okorie called on Johnson to apologise to those she may have hurt, saying, “Forgiveness is divine, but accountability is necessary.” The comment did not sit well with Regina Daniels, a close friend of Mercy Johnson, who took to social media to defend her colleague.
In a strongly worded response, Daniels dismissed Angela Okorie’s remarks as an unnecessary attempt to revive old wounds. However, the online exchange quickly spiralled when Okorie made a jab at Regina’s marriage to billionaire politician and businessman Ned Nwoko, highlighting the age gap between the couple.
This provoked a fiery reaction from Daniels, who made explosive claims in return. Taking to Instagram, the actress accused Angela Okorie of previously trying to pursue her husband, writing,
“He is certainly not your regular old man. He is everything your kind prays for but can’t attract. Don’t get me started to tell the world how you were chasing this same old man.”
She went further to compare their achievements, saying Okorie should not try to measure up to her.
“Age? It’s just a number. What really counts is how you’ve lived, what you’ve built, and who you’ve become. The roads I’ve walked, the milestones I’ve hit with grace and not disgrace are places your bitterness will never take you,” Daniels stated.
Angela Okorie, known for her outspokenness, has since denied the allegation, insisting she never chased Ned Nwoko. In her own response, she said, “God forbid, I don’t do ancestors,” and continued to criticise Daniels for marrying a man much older than herself.
The bitter exchange between the two actresses is rooted in longstanding personal and professional tensions within Nollywood. Okorie’s initial remarks, disguised as a reconciliatory message to Mercy Johnson, were seen by many — including Daniels — as a subtle attack. Daniels, who enjoys a close friendship with Johnson, was quick to respond in defence.
