The Nigeria Police Force has denounced the conduct of armed officers seen in a viral video trailing Nollywood actress Angela Okorie while she jogged, describing their actions as “clearly inconsistent with professional standards.”
In a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi, the police expressed strong disapproval of the incident, which has sparked widespread public concern. While it remains unclear whether the scene was part of a movie production, the Force stated that the officers’ behavior fell short of expected professional decorum.
“Necessary administrative processes have been initiated to identify the officers involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the video,” the statement read. “Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the review.”
The viral clip shows armed policemen in uniform closely following Okorie as she jogged along what appears to be a roadside location. The actress has not publicly commented on whether the incident was staged for a film project.
The Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professionalism and public trust, emphasizing that officers must uphold the highest standards of conduct at all times.
