The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old woman, identified as Charity Williams, during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Oguda village, Okene Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, operatives attached to Okene Division acted on intelligence that led them to Yuwander Lodge, alleged to be a base for criminal activities.
“Upon searching one of the rooms which was booked by one Christopher Christopher Kadiri, a lady named Charity Williams aged 23 years was arrested and the above exhibits were recovered from the room,” Aya said.
The recovered items include one locally made Beretta pistol, a locally fabricated barrel gun, six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, an axe, hard drugs, four mobile phones, and cash totalling ₦2,047,300.
The police noted that the main suspect, Kadiri, fled before the raid, but assured that efforts are ongoing to track him down.
In a separate operation, officers attached to Ofu Division recovered a locally made barrel gun, a cutlass, and a Tecno mobile phone at Ogbakpedo village along the Itobe–Ayingba road.

The Commissioner of Police, Miller G. Dantawaye, commended the operatives for their swift response and reiterated his commitment to making the state unsafe for criminals.
“The Command remains resolute in its fight against armed robbery, kidnapping, and other crimes. I commend the officers for their dedication to duty,” Aya quoted the CP as saying.
