President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Thursday, received a Super Falcon football player, Asisat Oshoala, in Lagos.
Tinubu and the First Lady who are in Lagos to celebrate this year’s Christmas and New Year with family and friends, received Oshoala at their Lagos home on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
The 6-time winner of the African Women’s Footballer of the Year, visited the President and his family, for the first time after winning the CAF award the 6th time, this year.
Oshoala won the African Women’s Footballer of the Year 2023 Award, which was conferred on her in December, by the Confederation of African Football.
However, the footballer presented the award to the first family, during her visit.
According to her, the presentation was in recognition of the support received from the President and his wife, to achieve the success.
She said, ”I love to appreciate the President and the First Lady for actually allowing me to present their work to them. Because I feel like during the World Cup tournament, we had a couple of issues.
”They came in to actually help us out and especially monitoring after the tournament, she stretched a supportive hand towards the girls.
”If something good is coming out of that team, I think it’s only right for her to be aware and also show this thing so she knows that we do appreciate that support.”
