PDP BoT to meet in Abuja over court ruling on 2025 convention

The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party is scheduled to hold a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday following the controversy surrounding a court ruling that nullified the party’s 2025 national convention.

The meeting, slated for March 11, 2026, comes after the Court of Appeal affirmed an earlier judgment that invalidated the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.

In a notice made available to journalists and signed by the Chairman of the PDP BoT, Mao Ohuabunwa, members of the board were invited to attend the meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. in Abuja.

“This serves to formally invite all members of the Board of Trustees of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2 pm,” Ohuabunwa stated in the notice.

He added that the meeting would hold at 1, Sabo Ago Street, LifeCamp, Abuja.

Ohuabunwa explained that the gathering was convened by the Board of Trustees recognised by the party’s caretaker leadership.

“Note that this is the only Board of Trustees recognised as constituted by the Abdulrahman/Anyanwu-led National Caretaker Working Committee, pursuant to the Federal High Court decision and subsequently ratified by the Court of Appeal in Abuja,” he said.

The BoT chairman also cautioned members against responding to other invitations that may circulate regarding similar meetings.

“Kindly disregard any other notice claiming to summon a meeting of the Board of Trustees,” he warned.

He further stated that only duly notified BoT members would be allowed access to the meeting venue, advising non-members to stay away.
