The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, declined a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris during a recent evangelical crusade in the state. Instead, he urged that the funds be directed to orphanages or other charitable causes.
The governor’s representative, Kebbi State Commissioner for Social Duties Zayyanu Umar Aliero, announced the cash gift at the crusade, stating it was a token of appreciation for Pastor Enenche’s spiritual outreach. He confirmed the money was physically available for immediate handover to the church.
However, Pastor Enenche, appearing surprised by the gesture, respectfully declined the offer before the congregation. While acknowledging the governor’s generosity, he maintained the church would not accept the funds.
“We sincerely appreciate the gesture and the governor’s generous heart. But we will not take this money. Please channel it instead to orphanages or any other charitable institution of your choice,” Enenche stated firmly from the pulpit.
The governor’s representative accepted the pastor’s request with grace, thanking him for his humility and dedication to gospel principles.
The incident has drawn widespread commendation on social media, with many Nigerians praising Enenche’s integrity for refusing government funds during a religious event. The pastor’s insistence on redirecting the donation to vulnerable groups has particularly resonated with the public.
This marks another instance of Pastor Enenche maintaining the church’s policy of financial independence from government support, a stance that has characterized his ministry over the years. The N30 million is expected to be reallocated to charitable causes as suggested by the cleric.
