Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk, has expressed optimism after Victor Osimhen returned to full training, describing it as a timely lift for the club as they prepare for their Turkish Süper Lig meeting with Gençlerbirliği.
Osimhen, who had been sidelined since picking up an arm injury during last month’s UEFA Champions League encounter with Liverpool, rejoined training on Tuesday following his recovery process.
The Nigerian forward has missed Galatasaray’s previous three matches in all competitions, a spell that coincided with the club seeing its lead at the top of the league table reduced to just two points.
Buruk, however, welcomed the striker’s return and underlined the positive influence it has already had within the squad environment.
“Osimhen trained with the team for a large part yesterday. He’s physically good and completed the session comfortably,” Buruk was quoted by Sporx.
“Every player’s return lifts the team, and Osimhen is one of the locomotives. His presence in training has had a positive effect on everyone.”
So far this season, Osimhen has contributed 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish champions.
