Birmingham City head coach Chris Davies has confirmed that Bright Osayi-Samuel will be available for this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship clash away to Stoke City.
The defender recently returned from international duty after an impressive outing with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Osayi-Samuel played a key role for the Super Eagles, featuring in six of their seven matches as the team went on to finish third at the tournament.
Davies praised both the player and the Nigerian team for their showing at the continental event.
“He’s back, which is great news, and congratulations to him for his performances and Nigeria’s in the tournament,” Davies said during his interaction with the media on Friday.
“Although they couldn’t go on to win it, they certainly did the country proud and Bright really enjoyed being part of that, so we are pleased to have him back.”
There had been concerns over Osayi-Samuel’s fitness after he limped off during Nigeria’s third-place playoff victory over Egypt.
However, the Birmingham City boss has allayed fears, confirming the right-back is fit and ready for selection.
“He is available. There was a little something there but we’ve had him checked out and he’s trained as well today, he’s fine,” added Davies.
