Former Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has declared that President Bola Tinubu is restoring stability and hope to Nigeria.
Okowa made this assertion on Monday in Abuja during a national summit organized by the Integrity Group of Nigeria with the theme “Renew Hope Agenda through Continuity.”
Represented by his former Special Adviser on National Assembly and Intergovernmental Relationships, Pascal Adigwe, Okowa emphasized the importance of Tinubu continuing in office to allow Nigerians to fully benefit from his policies. He described the president as an “action president” who has taken full responsibility for governance, unlike some past leaders.
“Tinubu’s decisions might be tough or rough, but they are yielding positive results,” Okowa said. “Tinubu is bringing stability. He’s bringing back hope. He’s taking the bull by the horns. He’s not referring to issues in the past or how the past was governed. He promised Nigeria that he will come to the saddle and take responsibility. That is what he has done.”
The former governor expressed his full support for Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027, citing the president’s demonstrated commitment to national development. “We have come, not with liability but assets, to make what you have built better. We are coming with our experience, with our knowledge of the terrain. We are coming with love. We are coming with resources to better the lot,” he stated.
Okowa called on support groups to begin preparations for Tinubu’s re-election campaign, asserting that the president deserves another term based on his performance.
Earlier in the event, IGN Convener and National Chairman Dr. Oke Idawene commended Tinubu’s preparedness for leadership and his efforts toward national prosperity. “The message of this afternoon is no other than to say never again shall we allow those who are stealing Nigeria’s prosperity to lead us again,” Idawene declared. He highlighted improvements in student loan accessibility and security as evidence of Tinubu’s effective governance.
Senator Binta Garba noted the significant turnaround in the country’s fortunes since Tinubu assumed office. “When Tinubu took office, the country’s situation was not improving, but he was able to turn things around,” Garba said, expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope initiative would continue to benefit Nigeria through 2027.
Former Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s administration through prayers and active participation. Tallen pointed to recent APC electoral victories and Nigerian girls’ sporting achievements as positive indicators of national progress.
The event’s mother of the day, Prof. Nora Daduut, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of FUTA’s Governing Council, commended the summit organizers and charged participants, especially women, to sustain the Renewed Hope message. Daduut’s remarks underscored the collective endorsement of Tinubu’s leadership and the call for continuity in governance.
