Ogogo’s family denies daughter welcomed baby boy

The family of late Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked reports circulating online that his daughter, Shakirat “Kira” Taiwo, recently gave birth to a baby boy.

The clarification was issued by another daughter of the deceased actor, Haleemah “Lima” Taiwo, following the circulation of a video making the claim.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Haleemah described the report as false and urged members of the public to disregard it.

She said, “Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true.”

According to her, the family had been inundated with calls and messages from concerned relatives and friends seeking clarification about the report.

She added that the family was still mourning the death of their father and appealed to the public to respect their privacy.

“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family,” she said.

The disputed report was accompanied by a short video which claimed that Kira had delivered a baby boy shortly after her father’s burial. The video reportedly referred to the alleged newborn as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy.”

The family’s statement, however, confirmed that the claim was untrue.

Ogogo, a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.

He was buried according to Islamic rites the following day in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.

Haleemah thanked members of the public for their prayers and understanding while appealing for privacy as the family continues to mourn.
