The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed a total of 2,807 personnel across strategic locations in Katsina State ahead of the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, scheduled to hold today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

The deployment was confirmed in a statement on Monday by the Katsina State Commandant of the NSCDC, Aminu Datti, who explained that the action follows a directive from the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful burial ceremony.

“We have deployed 2,807 operatives across Daura, the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport in Katsina, the palaces of the Emir of Katsina and Daura, and other critical locations,” Datti stated.

He emphasized that the NSCDC was implementing a range of security strategies including intensive surveillance, intelligence gathering, community engagement, and collaboration with sister security agencies to ensure adequate protection throughout the event.

“Our personnel, both covert and overt, have been instructed to ensure the safety of all government facilities and to maintain law and order before, during, and after the burial,” he added.

Datti also urged heads of departments, area commanders, divisional officers, unit commanders, outpost leaders, and special forces to work in synergy and maintain a high level of professionalism in the field.

“Coordination and synergy are critical. All officers must carry out their duties with utmost professionalism and work closely with other security agencies to guarantee watertight security,” he stressed.
