Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have uncovered a clever drug trafficking technique involving a fuel tanker specially modified to transport illegal substances across Nigeria.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, revealed details of the operation in a post shared on X on Sunday.
He explained that the tanker was flagged during a strategic stop-and-search exercise, where NDLEA officers uncovered a hidden compartment expertly constructed beneath the vehicle.
“Narco-trend: Fuel tanker on top but drug tanker beneath!” Babafemi stated.
“Please watch how #ndlea_nigeria officers discovered a large storage created in the belly of this oil tanker for the sole purpose of moving drugs across the country.”
The agency has yet to release information on the exact type or quantity of drugs found.
This discovery is part of NDLEA’s ongoing intensified efforts to dismantle drug trafficking operations nationwide.
