Nations League: Latković’s goal hands Montenegro 3-2 win over Armenia

Armenia suffered a 3-2 defeat to Montenegro in their second UEFA Nations League Group C2 fixture on Monday, with the visitors scoring a late winner at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan.

The hosts twice fought back from behind but were unable to complete their comeback as Montenegro secured all three points in a dramatic encounter.

Montenegro took the lead in the first half before Armenia responded to level the score.

However, the visitors restored their advantage before the break, leaving the hosts trailing 2-1 at half-time.

Armenia returned from the interval with greater attacking intent and were rewarded when Eduard Spertsyan found the equaliser to make it 2-2.

The home side continued to push for a third goal as they sought to turn the game around, but Montenegro delivered the decisive blow in the closing stages to claim a 3-2 victory.

The defeat leaves Armenia with three points from their opening two Group C2 matches, having started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Latvia.

Montenegro also have three points after opening with a 2-1 victory over Cyprus.
