The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has released its official schedule for the 2026 Hajj, setting out strict deadlines for state boards, licensed operators, and intending pilgrims.
According to the commission, the preparations will formally begin in November 2025 with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigeria and Saudi authorities.
A statement issued by NAHCON on Friday stressed that compliance with the timeline is mandatory, noting that failure to meet deadlines could jeopardize Nigeria’s participation in the annual pilgrimage.
Under the timetable, October 8, 2025 has been fixed as the deadline for remittances by state boards and tour operators to secure their slots. Camp booking payments and confirmation of service contract packages must be completed by January 4, 2026, while transport and accommodation contracts are expected to be uploaded on the Nusuk Masar portal by February 1, 2026.
The most critical deadline, the commission said, is March 20, 2026, which marks the final date for visa issuance. “There will be no extensions under any circumstances,” NAHCON emphasized.
The agency also warned that delays could result in operational setbacks. “These timelines are non-negotiable. All stakeholders must ensure early compliance to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims,” the statement read.
With increasing global demand for Hajj slots, NAHCON noted that Saudi Arabia has tightened its digital and logistical requirements, making strict adherence to schedules essential.
A senior NAHCON official, who spoke on the development, explained: “We have designed this timetable to avoid the challenges of past exercises. It is in the best interest of pilgrims, state boards, and operators to comply early so that no one is left stranded.”
