AC Milan and West Ham United have reportedly shown interest in signing Super Eagles and Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika.
According to TBR Football, West Ham are looking to find a replacement for Tomas Soucek this summer amid growing interest in the Czech midfielder from other Premier League clubs.
It has been reported that Leeds United, fresh from securing promotion from the Championship, are keen admirers of Soucek. West Ham value the player at around £20 million.
Now, the Hammers have opened talks to secure 24-year-old Onyedika as a direct successor.
Chief Correspondent at TBR Football, Graeme Bailey, revealed that West Ham have initiated contact with Club Brugge regarding a potential deal for the Nigerian international.
Onyedika is reportedly keen on a move to London, especially as he enters the final two years of his contract with the Belgian club.
If Club Brugge fail to sell him this summer, his market value is expected to decrease next year when only a single year remains on his contract.
However, West Ham’s pursuit faces competition. The club is also monitoring goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Sources informed TBR Football that AC Milan see Onyedika as a possible replacement for Tijjani Reijnders, who is close to joining Manchester City in a £46 million transfer.
Despite failing to qualify for European competitions last season after finishing eighth in Serie A, AC Milan remain a prestigious club with significant appeal.
Onyedika is currently in Moscow with the Super Eagles ahead of their friendly match against Russia on Friday.
Last season, Onyedika featured in 34 games for Club Brugge, scoring once and providing one assist.
In the UEFA Champions League last season, he made 11 appearances, contributing one goal and one assist.
