Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, is reportedly set to take over Luka Modric’s iconic number 10 jersey at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Currently donning the number 9 shirt and operating as a striker under Carlo Ancelotti, Mbappe could soon make a symbolic switch, according to a report by BeIN Sports, which claims the Frenchman is expected to inherit the number 10 from Modric starting next season.

Mbappe, who arrived in Madrid last summer, has made a strong impression in his first season with the Spanish giants.

Veteran midfielder, Luka Modric, recently confirmed that he will bid farewell to Real Madrid following the FIFA Club World Cup, concluding a glittering career with the club that spans more than a decade.

While other players like Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler are also seen as potential candidates for the prestigious shirt, the former PSG talisman appears to be the frontrunner.

The switch would see Mbappe emulate his childhood hero, Cristiano Ronaldo, who also changed his jersey number after his first season with Los Blancos.
