Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé, has opened up about the profound impact Cristiano Ronaldo has had on his career, describing the Portuguese icon as both a mentor and an inspiration.
The French superstar, who has spent the past year and a half donning the famous white shirt, said he hopes to leave a legacy as remarkable as that of the club’s all-time leading scorer.
Speaking in an interview with Universo Valdano, Mbappé said, “Cristiano has always been a role model, an example, for me.
“I’m lucky to be able to talk to him. He gives me advice, helps me… He’s the number one, the biggest reference at Real Madrid. People, even now, still dream of Cristiano.
He’s the best, but I want to forge my own path, and it will be historic for me and for Real Madrid. I want to do something historic with Real Madrid.”
Mbappé’s comments highlight the deep respect he holds for Ronaldo while underlining his determination to carve out his own chapter in the club’s storied history.
