First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended her heartfelt wishes to Nigerian children while urging the nation to unite against bullying. She described children as the true embodiment of Nigeria’s future potential.
Her remarks came as part of the activities celebrating International Children’s Day, observed globally every May 27th.
Highlighting this year’s theme, “Stand Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” the First Lady emphasized the collective duty to safeguard and uplift young minds.
“As we mark this year’s Children’s Day, I extend my warmest wishes and love to every child across our great nation whose minds represent the promise of Nigeria’s future,” she affirmed.
Addressing the harmful effects of bullying, she noted that whether it happens in schools, communities, or online, it leaves deep scars that negatively impact a child’s emotional, social, and academic growth.
The President’s wife stressed that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, nurturing, and fear-free environment.
“As a mother, I call on all Nigerians to take an active stand against bullying. Let us teach our children that strength lies in compassion, and that true leadership begins with looking out for one another. Happy Children’s Day,” Tinubu stated.
