Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has assured residents of the state that his administration remains focused on delivering the benefits of democratic governance across all zones.
The governor gave the assurance on Friday during a courtesy visit to the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, at the monarch’s palace in Surulere Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, Makinde called on the people of the Ogbomoso axis to continue to support his government’s programmes and policies.
“I want to restate our commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every resident of Oyo State,” the governor said.
He added, “Very soon, we will flag off the rehabilitation of inner roads across the five local government areas in Ogbomoso Zone. Our goal is to develop the state in a balanced manner, without leaving any community behind.”
Makinde also expressed optimism about the sustainability of good governance in the state, noting that his successor would build on the foundation already laid.
“I am confident that the next administration will not only sustain our achievements but will also surpass them,” he said.
In his response, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon commended the governor’s performance and pledged the loyalty of the traditional institution to the state government.
“The people of this area appreciate the unprecedented development we have witnessed under your leadership, and we assure you of our continued support,” the monarch said.
The visit was attended by top government officials, political leaders, and traditional rulers from the zone.
