Lewis-Skelly extends contract with Arsenal

Promising young midfielder, Myles Lewis-Skelly, has committed his future to Arsenal after signing a new long-term contract with the club.

The 17-year-old, who emerged as a standout talent during the past season under manager Mikel Arteta, made an impressive 39 appearances across all competitions, showcasing his versatility and maturity beyond his years.

Lewis-Skelly also reached another milestone in his flourishing career by earning his first cap for the England national team.

Reflecting on the new deal, he said, “I’m so proud and happy. I know those words are simple, but I think they sum up how I feel signing for this club. I’m a fan and it’s like a dream come true.”

The Hale End graduate credited Arsenal’s youth development system for shaping his journey, expressing gratitude for the values instilled in him.

“I’ve embodied the values of Hale End and come through. I’ve still got a lot of years ahead of me, so if I can keep staying humble and being a good person, that’s the most important thing to me,” he added.

Looking back on his debut season, Lewis-Skelly said the experience has helped prepare him for greater challenges ahead, “I know I’ve taken a lot of experience from the games about the positive moments, the mistakes that I’ve made. I’m definitely more ready now for the next season. I just want to keep learning and keep improving.”

The teenager also shared his ambition to leave a lasting mark at the club and in the game, noting, “I want a legacy. I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important.”

Arsenal fans will be eager to see what the future holds for Lewis-Skelly, as he continues to grow into one of the club’s brightest prospects.
