The official squad numbers for Nigeria’s Super Falcons ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have been unveiled.
Many of the team’s prominent players will retain their familiar shirt numbers for the tournament.
Asisat Oshoala, the six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and undoubtedly the team’s standout star, will sport the number eight jersey.
Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade has also held on to her trademark number 15 shirt.
Between the sticks, dependable shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie will continue with the number 16 jersey, while the iconic number 10 has been handed to Christy Ucheibe, the Benfica midfielder.
In defence, stalwarts Osinachi Ohale, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Oluwatosin Demehin will wear jerseys numbered three, five, and 14 respectively.
The Super Falcons are set to kick off their WAFCON campaign against Tunisia on Sunday.
The Group B clash is scheduled to take place at the Labri Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, with kick-off slated for 5 p.m. Nigeria time.
