Kosovo, Austria share points in Nations League draw

Kosovo and Austria played out a 1-1 draw in their UEFA Nations League League B, Group 3 encounter in Prishtina on Sunday.

Austria dominated possession for much of the game but struggled to create clear-cut opportunities, while Kosovo looked more dangerous when they broke forward.

The hosts eventually took the lead in the 70th minute through substitute Fisnik Asllani.

Edon Zhegrova played a key role in the move, driving into the right channel before setting up Asllani, who finished low to give Kosovo the advantage.

Austria continued to push for an equaliser and eventually got their reward five minutes from full time.

Christoph Lang headed home from close range after Kevin Danso’s throw-in and a key touch from Saša Kalajdžić.

Kosovo came close to restoring their lead late on when substitute Milot Rashica struck the woodwork.

Rashica was subsequently forced off with an injury in the 88th minute.
