After years of anticipation, global K-pop sensation BTS is officially gearing up for a full-fledged comeback.

The iconic seven-member group revealed plans to return in spring 2026 with a brand-new album and their first world tour in nearly four years.

Jin, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jung Kook, and Suga made the exciting announcement during a livestream on Weverse, the fan communication platform operated by their label, Hybe marking their first group broadcast since September 2022.

“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music,” the group shared. “Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”

In addition to the album, a press release confirmed that BTS would begin working on new material in the United States this month as part of their creative reunion.

This upcoming release will be the band’s first major group project since their 2022 anthology album Proof, their 2021 Japanese compilation BTS, the Best, and their 2020 studio album Be.

The announcement arrives on the heels of another major milestone, the completion of military service by all seven members. RM, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook were officially discharged in June 2025, joining Jin and J-Hope, who completed their service in 2024.

Suga fulfilled his national duty as a social service agent, a recognized alternative to active military service in South Korea.

Under South Korea’s conscription law, all able-bodied men between 18 and 28 must serve 18 to 21 months in the military, a policy aimed at maintaining readiness against North Korea.

While certain elite athletes and classical performers can receive exemptions for boosting national prestige, no such privilege is extended to pop stars.

However, in 2020, a revision to the country’s Military Service Act allowed top-tier K-pop artists, including BTS, to postpone enlistment until the age of 30, giving the group time to continue their global rise before fulfilling their duties.

Now, with service completed and all members reunited, BTS is poised to write a new chapter, one filled with fresh music, global stages, and the energy that made them a worldwide phenomenon.

Their reunion? It’s smooth like butter.
