Juventus began their Serie A campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Frosinone, thanks to a first-half header from Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer.
Bremer was a constant threat during the opening stages and came close to breaking the deadlock when his header narrowly missed the target.
He soon made his presence count, rising ahead of Frosinone goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani to head home Francisco Conceicao’s inviting cross.
Frosinone struggled to create clear opportunities before the interval, although Gabriele Bracaglia tested Juventus goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with a long-range effort before Giorgi Kvernadze sent the rebound into the side netting.
Juventus continued to dominate after the restart and almost doubled their advantage when Conceicao cut inside and fired narrowly over the crossbar.
The Portuguese winger remained dangerous but could not find the finishing touch, later sending another effort wide from the edge of the box.
The hosts had opportunities to put the game beyond doubt but were made to sweat in the closing stages as Frosinone searched for an equaliser.
Frosinone came agonisingly close in stoppage time when Gabriele Calvani’s header struck the crossbar, but Juventus held on to secure all three points.
The victory extended Juventus’ impressive record in opening-day fixtures, while Frosinone suffered their fourth consecutive defeat on matchday one in Serie A.
Bremer was named Flashscore’s Man of the Match after his decisive performance at the back and in attack.
The result also continued Juventus’ strong record against promoted sides, with the Turin club now unbeaten in 20 of their last 21 Serie A matches against newly promoted opposition.
