Manchester City assistant coach, Kolo Touré, has admitted that predicting the winner of the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be a tough task.
The 35th edition of AFCON is scheduled to be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Ivory Coast, the defending champions after their 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles in the 2023 AFCON final, will be looking to retain their crown on Moroccan soil.
Speaking to reporters, Touré was asked which team he believes will lift the trophy. He said, “It’s going to be difficult.
“North African countries like Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria will be very strong. I also see my country, Ivory Coast, in the mix. We won the last AFCON and we still have a very good team.
“I’m counting on my country to win the tournament.”
