The United States Embassy’s branch office in Tel Aviv in Israel sustained limited damage after a nearby missile strike by Iran, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed on Monday.
In a statement shared via X, Huckabee said, “Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in Tel Aviv, but no injuries to U.S. personnel.”
As a safety measure, the U.S. has temporarily shut down its diplomatic outposts in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, according to the ambassador.
“U.S. diplomatic facilities in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem would be closed on Monday as a precaution,” he added.
The development followed a barrage of Iranian missiles reported to have landed across various parts of Israel overnight.
Loud explosions were heard across central Tel Aviv, triggering ambulance sirens and widespread panic.
Israel had previously conducted air raids on Friday, striking a number of Iranian targets, including military leadership hubs, nuclear-related facilities, energy infrastructure, and defense positions.
The Iranian response came swiftly, escalating regional tensions.
