United States President Donald Trump has called on Iran to return to diplomatic negotiations, warning that the Islamic Republic is not gaining the upper hand in its intensifying conflict with Israel.

Trump made the remarks during a press briefing at the G7 summit in Canada on Monday, where he addressed escalating tensions in the Middle East.

According to a report by USA News Today, the U.S. President stated that Iranian officials have signaled a willingness to discuss de-escalation measures amid a growing cycle of strikes and counter-strikes between the two nations.

“It’s in Iran’s best interest to return to the negotiating table without delay,” Trump told reporters. He added that Iran appeared to be seeking an off-ramp. “They have to make a deal, and it’s painful for both parties. But I’d say Iran is not winning this war, and they should talk, and they should talk immediately, before it’s too late.”

Trump’s remarks come just days after hostilities between Israel and Iran dramatically escalated. On Friday, more than 200 Israeli fighter jets launched coordinated airstrikes targeting dozens of Iranian military and nuclear facilities, reportedly killing several top generals and nuclear scientists.

While the U.S. administration has maintained support for its key ally, Israel, it has also consistently urged all parties involved to de-escalate the situation and return to the path of diplomacy.

The ongoing conflict has prompted growing concern among world leaders, with diplomatic efforts intensifying behind the scenes to prevent a broader regional war. President Trump’s latest call for dialogue underscores Washington’s attempt to steer the crisis away from further escalation and toward a negotiated settlement.
