INEC uploads 1,340 Osun gov election results

The Independent National Electoral Commission has continued the electronic transmission of results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election through its Result Viewing Portal.

According to The Punch, as of 5:18pm on Saturday, 1,340 polling unit results had been uploaded to the IReV portal out of the 3,763 expected results, representing 35.61 per cent of the total.

The figure marks a significant increase from the 402 results, or 10.68 per cent, uploaded about an hour earlier.

Checks on the portal showed that the latest result was uploaded at 5:18:40pm from polling unit 29/02/04/004 in Ife North Local Government Area, as the collation process continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The result updates are being closely monitored by voters and election observers through the IReV platform, which was introduced by INEC to improve transparency by making polling unit-level results accessible to the public.

The commission’s Result Stats section showed a steady increase in uploaded results, with users able to refresh the portal to view the latest figures.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking a second term against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, the African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, and other contenders.

The pace of result uploads had increased considerably as of press time, while collation at the ward and local government levels continued across the state.

INEC is expected to keep updating the portal as more polling unit results are uploaded and the collation process advances towards completion.
