Iheanacho excited after scoring debut winner for Celtic

Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho, expressed his excitement after netting the decisive goal on his debut for Celtic.

Iheanacho marked his Celtic debut in style, netting a dramatic late winner to hand the Scottish Premiership champions a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

Celtic went ahead through Daizen Maeda in the 55th minute, but the home side responded quickly as David Watson levelled seven minutes later.

With the game heading for a draw, Iheanacho stepped up in stoppage time and calmly converted from the penalty spot to seal all three points for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Iheanacho Reflects on Dream Start
“I’ll feel really, really good. It’s the last kick of the game, and I got to take it, so I’m really happy,” Iheanacho was quoted by the club’s official website.

“I’m happy for the opportunity, and I could see how the fans feel after that goal. It was a really important goal, so I’m happy.

“It’s a great feeling, but at the same time, there’s a lot of pressure as well with the spot-kick.

“I just took it with composure, and we won the three points today, which is massive, and hopefully there are many more to come.”
