IGP names Benjamin Hundeyin as new police spokesman

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement issued by the outgoing Police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, Hundeyin’s appointment takes immediate effect.

He noted that the IGP tasked the new spokesman with strengthening the Force’s public relations and building trust between the police and citizens.

“The Inspector-General of Police has charged him to leverage his wealth of experience in security management and communications to enhance the image of the Force and ensure continuous positive engagement with the public,” the statement read.

Adejobi expressed confidence that Hundeyin will effectively deliver on his new assignment, while also thanking journalists and the public for their support during his tenure.
