Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ayra Starr, says she has reached a stage in her career where she no longer feels uncomfortable expressing her sensuality in music.

The Rush hitmaker made this known in a recent interview, noting that her upcoming songs will reflect a new sense of maturity and confidence

“I am finding a new approach where I don’t feel cringe talking about how sexy I am, but now I am very comfortable in my skin. Most of the music coming out this year is going to be grown confidence, feel good. We’re just having fun with the song,” she said.

Since breaking out in 2021 with her self-titled debut EP under Mavin Records, Ayra Starr has often highlighted how navigating fame as a teenager came with insecurities.

Over time, however, she has grown into an artist unafraid to celebrate her femininity and identity on the global stage.

“It’s all about confidence, happiness, and just enjoying the process,” the Grammy-nominated singer added, hinting that fans can expect her new music to capture that energy.
