Galatasaray continued their imperious run in the Trendyol Super Lig with a composed 2-0 triumph over Goztepe on Saturday, underlining their status as champions with one game still to play.

The Istanbul giants, who clinched their record 25th league title last week, displayed no signs of complacency in the away fixture.

The breakthrough came in the 70th minute following a foul on Ahmed Kutucu just outside the left edge of the penalty area.

Kaan Ayhan stepped up and expertly curled the resulting free kick into the net, handing the visitors a deserved 1-0 lead.

Their control of the game was sealed in stoppage time. Jakobs made a surging run down the left flank and fired a low delivery into the six-yard area.

Morata was perfectly positioned to meet the cross and calmly guided the ball past the goalkeeper to double Galatasaray’s lead.
