Fubara pledges cooperation with Rivers Assembly newcomers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with members of the state House of Assembly to advance the welfare of the people.

The governor made the statement while extending congratulations to Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, winners of the recent bye-elections in Ahoada East and Khana State constituencies.

The elections, held on Saturday, February 21, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, were conducted to fill vacant seats in the House. Both winners, representing the All Progressives Congress, secured victory with Napoleon winning Ahoada East State Constituency II and Henrietta taking Khana State Constituency II.

Describing their victories as well-deserved, Governor Fubara encouraged the new lawmakers to serve diligently and uphold the confidence placed in them by the electorate.

He said, “It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes.”

“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state,” he added.

The governor also commended the residents of Ahoada East and Khana for their peaceful conduct throughout the election process, noting that their orderly behavior reflects a high level of democratic maturity.
