Flick slams Barcelona players despite 3-0 win over Mallorca

Barcelona boss, Hansi Flick, expressed frustration with his squad despite a 3-0 victory over Mallorca on Saturday.

The Catalans kicked off their title defence with a commanding win, taking advantage of a Mallorca side reduced to nine men.

Two Mallorca players were sent off within a six-minute spell in the first half, by which time Barcelona were already 2-0 ahead.

Flick had anticipated a more dominant scoreline, but the team managed just one additional goal, scored by Lamine Yamal in stoppage time.

The result left the German manager dissatisfied.

He said, “I didn’t like the match.

“These are three important points, but after going 2-0 up, and with the two red cards, I think my team played at 50 per cent.

“That can’t happen. I need to talk to the players about this. You can’t play at 50 per cent against nine players, that’s not what I expect.”

Flick added, “This is not acceptable.”

Barcelona faces tough challenges in the next two rounds, with away games at Levante and Rayo Vallecano before the month concludes.
