The Federal Government has introduced a new initiative tagged the 3MTT Impact Challenge to assess and strengthen the outcomes of the ongoing Three Million Tech Talent programme as it prepares to scale nationwide.
The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, announced the initiative on Tuesday via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, describing it as a critical step in measuring the real-life impact of the digital skills programme on beneficiaries.
According to the minister, the pilot phase of the 3MTT programme has so far trained more than 135,000 Nigerians across three cohorts, while community-driven learning efforts have extended access to over 300,000 learners.
He added that the programme has already facilitated about 15,000 job and opportunity pathways, with over 1.8 million Nigerians currently in the training pipeline as the government works towards its target of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills.
“As we enter the scale-up phase of the programme, our focus is on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community, expanding access to opportunity, and ensuring that skills translate into real outcomes,” Tijani said.
He explained that the Impact Challenge is designed to gather direct feedback from programme fellows and partners through a national reflection exercise tagged the 3MTT National Impact Reflection.
“I would like to hear directly from Fellows and partners on how 3MTT has shaped their journey so far,” the minister stated.
Participants in the challenge are required to share personal “before and after” stories on social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Instagram. Submissions must include the hashtags #My3MTTStory, #3MTTImpactChallenge, and #3MTTNigeria.
They are also expected to tag the official accounts of President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, and 3MTT Nigeria, alongside at least two partner organisations, including UNDP, Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, Huawei, Google, Microsoft, AWS, and others.
The deadline for submissions is February 14, 2026.
Prizes for outstanding entries include 10 laptops, 200 electronic tablets, data bundles, and other incentives.
The 3MTT programme is a flagship digital skills initiative of the Federal Government aimed at boosting Nigeria’s technology workforce and positioning the country as a global talent hub.
