Federal workers to receive February salaries, one month arrears

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation has commenced the payment of February 2026 salaries to Federal Government treasury-funded workers.

The disbursement comes after a brief delay that had caused concern among civil servants across the country.

Director of Press and Public Relations at OAGF, Mr. Bawa Mokwa, explained that the delay was caused by a “technical glitch” but confirmed that the issue has now been resolved.

He added that measures have been taken to prevent a repeat of such disruptions. “Necessary measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence,” Mokwa said, highlighting the office’s commitment to smoother payroll processing.

Mokwa also disclosed that the OAGF has received approval and concluded the process for the payment of one month wage award arrears out of the three months outstanding.

Federal employees are still awaiting the remaining two months of arrears. The OAGF has indicated that it will continue processing the pending payments as approvals are finalized.
