Manchester City will face Championship side Southampton in one FA Cup semi-final, while Leeds United take on Chelsea at Wembley, marking the first time in 39 years that the Whites have reached the last four.
Daniel Farke’s Leeds side held their nerve against Premier League relegation rivals West Ham, advancing 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 2-2 draw on Sunday.
The Saints, whose only FA Cup triumph came in 1976, stunned Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday to earn a memorable showdown with Pep Guardiola’s seven-time winners.
Leeds’ last FA Cup semi-final appearance was in 1987, when they lost 3-2 to eventual champions Coventry City at Hillsborough, while their sole FA Cup triumph came in 1972.
Their upcoming clash with Chelsea also brings memories of the 1970 final, which required a replay at Old Trafford, the first since 1912, and ended in a Blues victory.
This year’s semi-final ties will be played at Wembley on the weekend of 25–26 April.
