The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has urged Nigerians who fell victim to the fraudulent cryptocurrency platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange, to come forward and assist its ongoing investigations.

The call was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan by the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.

According to Oyewale, the anti-graft agency is already prosecuting three suspects — Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka — over their alleged involvement in the scheme.

“The EFCC is currently prosecuting three suspects for their role in the CBEX fraud. We invite all victims who invested funds through individuals linked to the CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, to report to our Ibadan Zonal Directorate and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2,” Oyewale said.

He explained that the syndicate lured unsuspecting investors with promises of unrealistic profits, leaving many with devastating financial losses.

“In view of the need to strengthen our investigation, we are calling on victims to come forward with relevant information that can assist the Commission in ensuring justice is served,” he added.

The EFCC assured the public of its commitment to clamping down on fraudulent investment schemes while warning Nigerians to be cautious of platforms offering suspiciously high returns.
