Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, born David Adeleke, is set to receive recognition at the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, according to organisers.
The announcement was made via Instagram on Thursday, where organisers hailed the singer as a “global force in Afrobeats” whose influence has played a major role in taking African music to the international scene.
“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy,” the post read.
Organisers further commended the award-winning artiste for the impact he has made through music, business ventures and humanitarian efforts.
“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.
“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the statement added.
The induction ceremony for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame will take place on June 1, 2026, in Atlanta along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive, directly outside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
American rapper Ludacris is also among those expected to be honoured during the ceremony.
Davido has remained one of Africa’s most influential and commercially successful artistes since gaining mainstream attention with his 2011 breakout single Dami Duro.
Over the years, he has delivered internationally acclaimed songs such as Fall, If, Unavailable and Feel.
The singer has also worked with global stars including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and Summer Walker.
In recent years, Davido has earned several Grammy nominations while performing on some of the world’s biggest stages.
