Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit by ₦25 per litre, bringing it down from ₦799 to ₦774.
The new rate was communicated to fuel marketers on Tuesday, with the refinery stating that the adjustment takes immediate effect.
In a notice, Dangote said, “This is to notify you of a change in our PMS gantry price from N799 per litre to N774 per litre.”
The company also informed marketers that the PMS lifting incentive expired at midnight on February 10, noting that credits for products lifted within the bonus window would be credited to their accounts.
The price adjustment comes as Nigeria’s downstream sector continues to adjust to deregulation and the removal of petrol subsidies.
Since ramping up large-scale domestic supply late last year, the 650,000-barrel-per-day Dangote refinery has remained a major influence on local fuel pricing.
Meanwhile, Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote recently travelled to Burundi alongside former President Olusegun Obasanjo to discuss fresh investment prospects.
During discussions with Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye, Dangote outlined areas of interest including solid minerals, electricity generation, agriculture, cement manufacturing, and infrastructure.
“Our focus really is investing heavily in the African continent, not anywhere else, and so Burundi is part and parcel of that African region,” Dangote stated.
Both sides have now established technical teams to determine priority sectors and design viable projects, in line with Burundi’s plan to attract significant private-sector investment.
The developments highlight Dangote’s dual approach of strengthening its position in Nigeria’s fuel market while expanding its business footprint across Africa.
