The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), in a move aimed at making petroleum products more affordable for consumers and businesses.
Under the revised pricing structure, the ex-depot price of petrol has been reduced by ₦50 per litre, from ₦1,215 to ₦1,165, while diesel now sells at ₦1,570 per litre, down from ₦1,650, representing a ₦80 reduction.
The refinery disclosed the price adjustment in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the decision was part of its commitment to improving energy affordability and expanding access to refined petroleum products across the country.
According to the company, the reduction reflects ongoing efforts to support economic activities by easing the cost of fuel for businesses and consumers.
“The price review reflects Dangote Refinery’s ongoing efforts to enhance energy affordability, improve access to refined petroleum products, and support economic activities across Nigeria,” the statement said.
The company added that it remains committed to supplying high-quality petroleum products while maintaining stable product availability through improved operational efficiency.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains committed to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market and will continue to pass on the benefits of improved operational efficiencies to consumers whenever market conditions permit,” the statement added.
The refinery also noted that it continues to play a significant role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by reducing dependence on imported petroleum products and supporting the country’s economic development through local refining.
