A Federal High Court has dismissed a lawsuit seeking the removal of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Justice Inyang Ekwo delivered the ruling, citing the plaintiff’s lack of legal standing and failure to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

The North Central APC Forum had challenged Ganduje’s appointment, arguing it breached the party’s constitution since he hails from Kano State in the North West, rather than the North Central geo-political zone, according to Politics Nigeria.

However, Justice Ekwo held that Ganduje’s appointment can only be contested through a national convention, not a court case.

The judge also ruled that the forum lacks juristic personality, rendering it ineligible to challenge the APC’s internal affairs.

The group’s lawyer, Ayuba Abdul, and leader, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, have announced plans to appeal the judgment.

The ruling is a significant development in the APC’s internal politics, solidifying Ganduje’s position as national chairman.
