The incident occurred around 11:09 a.m. at Kilometer 49, between Kubwa and Asham stations in Abuja.
In a statement released via its official X handle, the NRC said, “The Nigerian Railway Corporation confirms a train derailment involving our Kaduna-bound AKTS service at about 11:09 a.m. at KM 49 between Kubwa Station and Asham Station.”
The corporation added that emergency measures were activated immediately after the derailment.
