Comoros edge Namibia to secure first AFCON qualifying win

Comoros secured their first victory in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after defeating Namibia 1-0 in their Group G encounter on Tuesday.

The game remained goalless after the opening 45 minutes, with neither side able to find a breakthrough.
Comoros eventually took the lead nine minutes into the second half when Benjaloud Youssouf found the net in the 54th minute.

Namibia were unable to respond as Comoros held on to their narrow advantage until the final whistle to claim all three points.

The result gives Comoros three points from two matches, putting them level with Namibia and Cameroon in Group G.
