Six-time Grand Slam winner, Boris Becker, has issued a piece of advice to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, cautioning him to pay close attention to the company he keeps as his career and fame continue to rise.
Speaking with TalkSport, Becker warned the teenager to remain grounded and avoid pitfalls that often come with early success.
“My alarm bells are ringing for me,” Becker said.
“I advise him to choose his friends carefully, trust his family and build a safety net so that, when his career ends, he doesn’t make the usual mistakes.
We’ll see what happens. If I return to the show in 10 or 15 years, we’ll probably talk about Lamine again and how he’s done.”
Yamal, who broke into Barcelona’s first team at just 15, has already collected two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, and was part of Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph.
At only 18, he is not just the jewel of Barcelona but also one of football’s most promising stars.
